Hey Near-reality, I've been using Points2Shop as a nice way earning additional cash in my spare time. I think you guys would be interested in checking it out. In this post, I'm going to do a basic rundown of how the site works, the best offers you can do and some tips + tricks :)
---Basics---
The site uses a system of both Points and Cash for keeping track of how much you have earned. Points are earned from most basic offers, where as cash is earned from doing * recurring tasks * (more on this later), as well as referrals. 1 point equates to 1 cent, so 100 points would be 1 dollar. Cash is measured in (you guessed it), cash. Points can be spent on a variety of gift cards (XBL, Facebook, Best Buy, etc.), as well as anything on Amazon (there is a built in amazon shop on the site). Cash can be spent on anything that points can be spent on (you can use a variety of cash and points for one purchase), as well as withdrawing as a check, to paypal, or a variety of custom-amount gift cards.
---Offers---
Offers on the site are broken up into a few different categories. I'll break down each category and rate the effectiveness and reliability of these offers.
Service Introduction: Service introduction involves you signing up for a website and getting payed! For example, signing up for perfectmatch.com nets you 20 points.
Average payout: 20-50 points.
Reliability: Quite reliable, payouts are usually instant or very quick. Usamp Surveys: Usamp surveys are offered from a 3rd party, and are extremely great. Initially, you won't find many surveys, but you have the opportunity to take qualification surveys (usually quick, 5-10 minutes with a small reward), that allow you to qualify for many more surveys. I often have 50+ surveys waiting for me! Usamp tells you the estimated time of completion as well as the payout. Easily the most trusted and reliable category on the site.
Average Payout: short surveys net you 50-75 points, long surveys net you up to 125.
Reliability: Surveys payout as soon as you finish, I have never had a survey not pay out on USamp.
Marketing Research: many daily surveys that you can take and earn points. Fairly easy and reliable.
Average Payout: around 50.
Reliability: Usually very reliable, may find a dud every once in a while.
Download: Downloading software/toolbars. Not recommended, usually riddled with malware and low payouts.
Average Payout: around 25 points.
Reliability: pretty good, but not worth all the crap that your computer gets from downloading them.
Daily Surveys: Usually linked somewhat with the marketing research category, but these are all daily surveys with higher payouts.
Average Payout: 75-100 points. Reliability: Extremely reliable, however sometimes it does take time to qualify for a survey.
PeanutLabs: Another 3rd party solution with many offers. Many are pay-for offers, however many free ones (sign-ups, quizes, etc.) are offered. Every so often they have a very fast survey that pays off a great amount. Offers usually credit quickly, but some may take some time. (I once did around 10 offers in one night, none credited, but a few days later they all credited and had a surprising 400 points in my bank!)
Average Payout: Extremely varied, some pay 400-800 points. Most pay 40-50 points.
Reliability: Generally offers credit quickly, but sometimes they can take a while.
TrialPay All pay for offers, generally recommended to stay away from, however they do have some email-verification ones that are reliable and pay a lot.
Average Payout: 75ish.
* Reliability: Not very good.
*$1 offers: All offers pay 100 points. Usually very, very, very unreliable offers. Stay away.
Average Payout: 100 points, but you've gotta be damn lucky to get one of these to credit.
Reliability: Zero. Zilch. Nada. None.
**Recurring Tasks: These are a bit different. You get payed for a doing certain small tasks, like checking google results or searching twitter profiles. Paid in cash, not points. Interesting offers and rather fun, as you are actually doing something.
Average Payout: Anywhere from 2-15 cents per task.
Reliability: 100%.
V11 Media Videos: You watch videos and earn points. Rather useless as you only get 1 point very video.
Average Payout 1 point.
Reliability: 100%
RadiumOne: Like PeanutLabs, but buggy and the offers never (NEVER) credit.
Average Payout:None, the offers NEVER credit. Ever.
Reliability: None. Never. 0%.
SuperRewards: Like RadiumOne. Terrible. Offers never credit, plus a nasty interface. Stay away.
Average Payout: Should be around 60 points, but they never credit.
Reliability: None.
Matomy: Like PeanutLabs. A variety of offers. Credits most of the time, and quickly. Not a bad choice.
Average Payout: 40-100 points
Reliability: 75%.
PaymentWall: Like PeanutLabs, but terrible. Offers take forever to credit, if they do at all. Best to stay away and use Matomy or PeanutLabs instead.
Average Payout:50-100 points
Reliability: 10%.
SuperSonic Ads: (Read RadiumOne review)
Manual Offers: Neat offers, they have a 100% Completion rate, you simply do the offer, they copy and paste the email that you received and you get your points!
Average Payout: 20-35 points
Reliability: 100%.
Trials and Paid: Offers are all paid offers, such as netflix, credit cards, DVD offers, club subscription, magazines, etc. Useful if you're going to buy something anyway and you wanna get some points for it :)
Average Payout: Very high, 100-800.
Reliability: Not sure, I've never used it.
Click Offers: Simple offers, you like a Facebook page or watch a video or click an ad. Very low payouts.
Average Payouts: 1 or 2 points.
Reliability: 100%.
Data Collection: Sign up for sites, submit email addresses, sign up for BS contests, etc.
Average Payouts: 10-50 points.
Reliability: 50ish%.
---Other Ways to Earn Points---
Games: You can play games on the site and wager points against others. As a new member you can other wager a small amount of points, however as you make your way up you can being to wager more amounts. My favorite game is the Daily Number Limbo, where the object is to guess the smallest number you can that nobody else guessed. It's very fun, about 200 people play every day. Generally the jackpot hovers around 2500 points, which is really cool!
Referrals: When you refer another user to points to shop, you earn 50 cents when they verify their email, as well as another 50 cents when they complete their first offer. In addition to that, you earn 15% of all offers they complete. All referral money is paid in cash, which you can convert to points later.
I really hope this post was informative and contained helpful tips that will help you get the most out of Points2Shop :)
